Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a beautiful option for creating the smile you’ve always wanted. Veneers will be recommended when natural teeth are stained, misshaped, have improper spacing or are chipped, Veneers consist of very thin sheets of porcelain that are attached to the front of the teeth. The esthetic results are amazing; improving overall shape, size and color.

Veneers typically take two appointments. The first step of the process, the existing teeth are prepared and shaped. This creates space for the porcelain. Next, an impression is taken that gives an accurate model of the prepared teeth. We choose the specific color that is desired. A cosmetic dental laboratory fabricates the veneers from this impression custom-made just for you.

On the second appointment, we try the new veneers in to assure your satisfaction. Once everyone is happy with the results, a bonding adhesive is used to attach the veneer to the teeth. Like most dental restorations, veneers are durable. Care does however need to be taken as far as chewing on things that may chip or break the veneers. Overall care is similar to that of natural teeth.

Cerec

Why go home with a temporary crown when you can have your final restoration the same day? Our CEREC machine is able to produce beautiful and strong crowns while you wait. New advancements have allowed us to prepare a tooth, take a few digital pictures of your teeth, and create a crown all in the same visit. Not all crowns can be made while you wait, so ask us if your crown may fit the criteria.

Crown and Bridge

A crown (cap) is a restoration that is placed on teeth that have lost structural integrity. There are a variety of types of crowns. Depending on each situation, we will recommend a full metal crown, entirely porcelain crown, or a combination of the two to. We will be happy to explain the advantages and disadvantages of each kind for you. The process of making a crown is typically a two-step process. We first prepare the tooth by removing any old fillings or cavity, and then create space for the new crown. An impression of the tooth/teeth involved gives us an exact replica that is used in the final fabrication. A custom temporary crown is placed on your tooth. The second appointment is dedicated to cementing the new crown in place.

Dental Implants

There are multiple options for replacement of missing teeth. One of the most conservative ways is by using dental implants. A titanium implant is surgically placed at the site of the missing tooth. This is a very simple process that most times can be done with local anesthetic. The implant is allowed to heal, or integrate with the surrounding bone. Once the implant is integrated, a crown is permanently placed on the implant allowing for good function as well esthetics.

White Fillings /Bonding

The technology of dentistry over the last few years has provided an incredible opportunity for beauty as well as strength. Composite, or white fillings have become the choice of most patients. Not only are they beautiful, but also they are incredibly strong.

Composite fillings are a mixture of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium that produces a tooth-colored filling. We are able to choose from multiple colors to match your individual tooth. The benefits of composite fillings are more than just beauty. We are able to remove less tooth structure with composite fillings. Leaving more natural tooth. Composite fillings provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that need to withstand moderate chewing pressure.

The case pictured below is a perfect example of how aesthetic and great bonding can be. This patient was concerned about the space between his front teeth. Without numbing the patient or drilling on the tooth, we filled the space in with filling material that matched his tooth exactly. He, and especially his wife, were both very pleased.

Preventative Services

Dental hygiene cleanings, doctor exams, x-rays and sealants are among the preventative services we offer our patients.

We believe strongly that each new patient begins their visits with a comprehensive oral exam. Your comprehensive exam includes: Oral cancer screening. Periodontal assessment to determine which type of teeth cleaning is appropriate. TMJ/bite evaluation. Digital photos for analysis, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Digital X-rays. Dental caries (cavities) screening. Answering any questions and addressing any concerns you may have.

Sealants are one of the most effective methods of preventing decay on the chewing surfaces of back teeth. Sealants are thin layers of resin that are placed in the pits, fissures, and grooves of teeth. These thin layers do not allow bacteria to enter into the deep and narrow grooves of the teeth, protecting them from decay. We recommend that most children seal their permanent molars.

Root-Canal-Treatment.png

Root Canal Treatment

All teeth consist of three different layers. The outermost and hardest layer is enamel, and the second layer is dentin. The third is the vital portion of the tooth, the pulp. This is the cavernous space where the live tissue and nerve of each tooth is found.

If for any reason the integrity of the pulp is compromised, the tissue becomes contaminated and eventually infected. A breech of pulp integrity can occur in many different ways, such as when you have a large cavity or a fractured tooth. Your dentist can explain the exact reason for damage to this tissue. In most cases, the treatment is usually root canal treatment.

Root canal treatment is the process of going inside the pulp space and removing the infected, and problematic dead tissue. The space is then disinfected and sealed with special materials. Root canal treatments at Lolo Dental are performed with advanced techniques and materials, making them far more comfortable and faster. After root canal treatment is complete, it is wise to place a crown on your tooth to safeguard against possible fracture.
